Kenneth Pitson Pwelle was born on 25 July, 1984 at Yenzebwe village, Itumba ward, Ileje district, Songwe Region, South-Western highland of Tanzania. Along two brothers and six sisters, he is a fourth in the family of Pitson Mwakibete Pwelle and Tupasyeghesimbilo Kalenge. His parents are subsistent farmers from Yenzebwe village. After finishing Elementary /primary school in 1998 at Yenzebwe primary school, he joined his parents in crops cultivation and harvesting.
Later in 2000, he joined his elder brother, a safari guide, Essau P. Pwelle, who taught and passed his experience to his young brother. Essau made him become an authorized mountain porter in year 2008 just before he could take the task of being a guide. It took him 4 years to become an Assistant Mountain Guide, then another 4 years to become a Leading Professional Guide after completing the training at Mweka Wildlife College where he was awarded the Certificate of Mountain Professional Guide at Mweka College of Wildlife and Kilimanjaro National Park (KINAPA) in 2013 gave him first guiding license.
Kenneth Pitson Pwelle has been guiding individuals and many groups from local Tanzanian tourists and International tourists. He has reached the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Mt. Meru and Mt. Kenya more than 200 times and with 98% successful climbs to the summits. In the year 2014, he climbed for two days (2) to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro from Umbwe gate to Uhuru peak and down to Mweka gate; usually the climb takes 5-6 days. He is having experience of reaching the Mountain Kilimanjaro summits via six popular routes making him one of successful professional mountain guides. Being passionate over nature and mountains has been influenced by his background where he was raised. Besides being a professional mountain guide, he loves cooking, entertaining his customers. He is always charming and foremost an honest man you can count on always.
